Moni Funk and the Groove Machine is a ten piece band, playing a tight and fun night of 70's funk, Motown, and disco. We will keep your head and feet moving all night long; plan to drink a lot of liquid so you can keep up with us! Moni Funk and the Groove Machine will take you back to the 70's, when funk and disco ruled, where diva was queen, and you tore the roof off the sucka every Friday and Saturday night at the disco. They literally 'knocked it out of the park' at Parks Alive this past summer and we're looking forward it again this summer 2012!! Morgan Cleveland, Program Coordinator, Festivals Kelowna	Moni Funk & the Groovemachine formed in 2009 as an 8 pc band, playing mainly in clubs and community events throughout the Okanagan. The band has now expanded to 10 pieces including a 3pc dynamic horn section and 2 spectacular female back-up vocalists. Our horn section includes alto and tenor saxophone as well as trumpet, while our back-up singers take the soprano and alto roles as well as some solos. This group of talented individuals has a special love for playing Motown, 70’s Funk, Soul, Disco and whatever dance music that intrigues them and their fans from any music era. The motto of the group is to have fun and entertain!! Their love of performing has lead them to playing many clubs, festivals, weddings, birthday parties, fundraisers, and other special events over the past few years where real dancing and entertainment is required. Most of the musicians in the band have been playing all over BC, North America and even Europe for the past two decades. This band is now moving fast forward in popularity and has an ever growing fan base throughout the Okanagan and beyond.
