Monica Tracey is classically trained and began her musical career at age 18 after earning her degree in music. From 1987 to 2001, she was lead vocalist and keyboard soloist for various trios in Vancouver. Monica also has over fifteen years experience as a music teacher that specializes in piano and vocal coaching while developing her professional singing/performing career. She has an extensive background in jazz and her unique, smooth sound quickly earned her a reputation in the Okanagan Valley after relocating in 2001. Monica has played at many wedding ceremonies, coffee houses, and private functions as a vocalist and/or keyboardist. She was discovered and approached by Midnite Access to play jazz and funk in either their trio or 5-piece band, and her solid musicianship and versatility complimented their sound. Inspired, Monica was instrumental to the inception of Moni Funk and the Groove Machine which has since been booked for clubs and festivals, and built their fan base in BC and abroad.
