Precise musicianship and solid grooves makes Vlad Ryzhov an integral member of Moni Funk and the Groove Machine. Born in Russia, he began playing bass at the age of 17 where he joined a big-band orchestra. Classic hits from the big-band era along with hits from the 70`s and 80`s crafted Vlad`s keen sense of rhythm and dynamics. The 1980`s also led him to an 8-piece disco band that kept couples dancing well into the 90`s, where he changed his tune and played funk in a small combo full time. After moving to Canada and taking some off to settle in, Vlad immersed himself in funk once again, eventually leading him to join Moni Funk and the Groove Machine where he was readily welcomed.
